Abstract

Currently, there are many Islamic boarding schools built specifically for memorizing the Koran which also apply the Muraja’ah method, especially for children who have disabilities, one of which is the Nurul Qolbi Bogor Blind Friends Foundation. This research aims to determine the process of Muraja’ah activities for blind children at the Nurul Qolbi Bogor Friends of the Blind Foundation and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors. Using qualitative methods, the research results show that the Muraja’ah activity process for blind children at the Nurul Qolbi Bogor Blind Friends Foundation is implemented in three forms of activity, namely Muraja’ah with mentors, with friends with khalaqoh events and al-Qur’an memorization tests 'an. At the Friends of the Blind Nurul Qolbi foundation there is also a memorization test of the Koran which aims to evaluate the memorization of friends at the foundation by also holding assessments consisting of tartil, fluency and fashohah, all of which aim to evaluate and improve their memorization. Examination activities are held every six months and are monitored directly by the supervisors. The supporting factors in implementing the Muraja’ah method for blind children at the Nurul Bogor Blind Friends Foundation include a conducive environment and enthusiasm from blind friends. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor is time allocation. Their busy activities slightly hampered the ongoing Muraja’ah activities. Keywords: Muraja’ah, blind people, Nurul Bogor Blind Friends Foundation
