Abstract

As the manufacturing industry progresses, surface roughness is very important in determining product quality. Especially on machining such as milling machines. The machining process will produce roughness which is a reference for evaluating machining products. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of rotational speed and cutting of the HSS type endmill cutter on the roughness level of AISI 1045 steel. HSS type endmill cutting on the level of steel roughness. because it is influenced by relatively hard steel materials and HSS chisels which have a high level of hardness. A good engine rotation speed will produce a good level of roughness, not too low and not too high because all factors are interrelated.
