Abstract

M. Syifa Tazul Arifin, 41182911190089. "KH. IMAM ZARKASYI AND ITS RELEVANCE TO ISLAMIC EDUCATION IN ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOLS". Islamic Education Department. Faculty of Islamic studies. Islamic University 45 Bekasi. 2023 M/1445 H. The purpose of this study is to reveal the concept of Islamic education according to KH. Imam Zarkasyi and his relevance to the Islamic boarding school. Islamic religious education in Islamic boarding schools still leaves various problems that can hinder the progress of students in the learning process. This problem is certainly a joint responsibility, especially institutions engaged in education. The type of research conducted by the compiler is library research. Data analysis is used using content analysis methods or drawing conclusions by identifying the content and message. This study used several primary data sources, namely the book "Modern Education Guidelines" written by KH. Imam Zarkasyi &; KH. Zainuddin Fannanie and the book "KH. Imam Zarkasyi, from Gontor Pioneered Modern Lodge", written by the committee for writing the biography and struggle of KH. Imam Zarkasyi. Furthermore, secondary data were obtained by reviewing books about KH. Imam Zarkasyi about his thoughts, and various library literature. The results of the research that has been conducted show the concept of Imam Zarkasyi's education which rests on the purpose of education that wants to make students not only understand the lesson, but more than that, practice and proclaim it. To achieve this goal he made the concept of education integral between religious lessons and general studies. All these lessons were then taught using teaching methods that he taught based on his experiences and books he had read. So that the teaching and learning process runs well and produces successor cadres who are properly prepared by Imam Zarkasyi to continue his struggle. With all these advantages, Imam Zarkasyi succeeded in building an educational institution that has proven to make a major contribution to the development of Islamic education in Indonesia.
