Abstract

The primary focus of this research is on how Barbie Dreamhouse Adventure's female characters depict women. The existence of women is frequently a topic of discussion in society. This culture persists from generation to generation until it finally reconstructs the shape of the female body. The culture of reconstructing women's bodies is made even more pernicious by the existence of media that is becoming more sophisticated and keeps doing it over and over again. This study aims to discuss how Barbie, the most well-known doll brand, portrays different women in a range of ages, from children to adults, in one of its products that is accessible to the general public. This study makes use of textual analysis, using the Barbie Dreamhouse Adventure game as the text source. The findings of this study is demonstrate how women are portrayed in children's video games, which are incredibly popular and can influence how young people develop their sense of self, particularly in relation to women in society.
