Abstract
This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between understanding of financial management and problem-solving ability with the performance of school principals in the Bekasi district, either between the variables of understanding of financial management (X1) and school principal performance (Y), problem-solving ability (X2) and school principal performance (Y), or both variables (X1) and (X2) together with school principal performance (Y). This research adopts a quantitative research method, which was chosen because it fundamentally employs a deductive-inductive approach. This approach is based on a theoretical framework, expert ideas, as well as the researcher's understanding derived from their experience. The research findings indicate a very strong correlation between Variable X1 and Variable Y. Based on the t-test, with a calculated t-value of 7.402 > t-table of 1.652, the correlation coefficient is highly significant. Similarly, between Variable X2 and Variable Y, the t-test shows that the calculated t-value of 6.404 > t-table of 1.652. Therefore, a good understanding of financial management and problem-solving ability enables school principals to effectively manage both the managerial aspects and financial resources of the school.
