Abstract

This research is entitled " Charismatic Authority of Religious Figures in a Review of Dramaturgical Theory " This research aims to determine the charismatic authority used by Ustadz Ahmad Kusyairi Suhail in preaching in the Jati Asih area from a dramaturgical perspective.This research is a qualitative descriptive research. Yule's theory is an illocutionary act, which is used by speakers to order listeners to do something. Data analysis in this research was Ustadz Ahmad Kusyairi Suhail in a review of dramaturgical theory. Subject of this research is Ustadz Ahmad Kusyairi. This research uses a sample with a certain population.The results of this research indicate that charismatic authority exists in him as a religious figure that conveys da'wah to his congregation in a loud and firm manner, and also has a wise leadership spirit in making decisions. Even though his name is quite foreign to the eyes of the Indonesian people, the nature of tawadhu is embedded in him even though he has very broad and deep knowledge related to the science of Tafsir Hadith. In addition, the researcher found that the management of the impression displayed in front and back of the stage that Ustadz Kusyairi presented was in the way he dressed, style of language, as well as gestures and facial expressions. Therefore, this research shows that charismatic authority, impression management, style of language and the way of dressing influence a person's way of communicating in public.
