Abstract

The background of this research is that cursive writing skills in elementary schools are still not optimal. This study aims to examine and find out the description of the drill method in improving cursive writing skills of elemtary scholl students. Based on the results of journal analysis, it was found that the problem of cursive writing skills for elementary school students was that there were still many students who were not neat in writing cursive letters, causing students to be less fluent in writing not according to the book outline. The type of research used in this research is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). This research was coundected by collecting data in the form of journals related to the drill method, cursive writing skills inelementary scholls. The results of the analysis of 8 scientific articles analysed based on the last 7 years showed that elementary scholl students were able to improve their cursive writing skills because by applying the drill learning method in class students carried out activities in the form of repetition of the same thing. From cursives writing skills students can be trained so that their fine motoric skills areincreasingly honed when students write cursive. Cursive writing activities will design brain performance, especially the right brain and regulate various kinds of arts and aesthetics.
