Abstract
CNC machines are tools used to create workpieces with a high level of precision.In addition to its motion accuracy, the stability of the workpiece temperature also affects the quality of the work and the lifespan of the cutting tools. The flow rate of the coolant plays a significant role in heat dissipation during the machining process. The on-off control method for the motor lacks efficiency in controlling the flow rate effectively. The research methodology employed in this study is quantitative and experimental, by assembling a microcontroller based on fuzzy logic that could regulate the output frequency of the variable frequency drive connected to the cooling pump motor of the CNC machine. Electrical energy consumption data dari the experiments were recorded and compared before and after the implementation of the device. The research findings demonstrated that the application of fuzzy logic method successfully reduced the electrical energy consumption of the CNC machine, resulting in an average decrease of 0.0697 kWh per trial. On a larger scale, the use of this device on a CNC machines could reduce the company's electricity costs for cnc machine by 23,3%, equivalent to savings of Rp. 5.534.130 per year. The results of this research indicate that the fuzzy logic method in controlling the coolant pump of CNC machines can provide significant contributions to energy efficiency and cost savings in CNC machine operations.
