Abstract

Roles in the family are divided according to status, the husband is the backbone of the family to meet the needs of daily life, while the wife takes care of the household and takes care of the needs of her husband and children. The phenomenon that occurs at this time is that many couples find it difficult to balance between work life and household life, in their work life they often experience work conflicts, such as risky work, inadequate work equipment, various work demands from superiors or colleagues, and so on.. The purpose of this study was to find out the description of work-family conflict, interpersonal communication and marital satisfaction. To determine the relationship between work-family conflict with marital satisfaction. To determine the relationship between interpersonal communication with marital satisfaction. To determine the influence of work-family conflict and interpersonal communication on marital satisfaction. The research method used is a quantitative approach, with interviews and psychological measurement scales. The subject is an employee of PT. Prakasa Battery Trimitra as many as 255 respondents. The sampling technique is by purposive sampling with the criteria of employees being married and having at least 1 child. The instrument uses the original scale or standard scale from the theory used. The results of the instrument test used the content validity test conducted by 4 raters, the construct validity test was tested on 70 respondents and the reliability test used Cornbach's alpha. Data analysis techniques used descriptive techniques, assumption tests, and hypothesis testing. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between work-family conflict and marital satisfaction with a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.645 (high) and was declared significant with ρ=0.000 (ρ< 0.05). There is a relationship between interpersonal communication and marital satisfaction with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.454 (medium) and is expressed as significant with ρ=0.005 (ρ<0.05). There is a significant influence between work-family conflict and interpersonal communication with marital satisfaction with the results of the study with the R Square value obtained being 0.408, meaning that 40.8% work-family conflict and interpersonal communication contribute to marital satisfaction while 59.2% influenced by other factors. The F value is 86.876 with a significance level of 0.000 (ρ<0.05).
