Abstract
The hedonic lifestyle is a view of life that considers pleasure and enjoyment to be the main goal of life. In general, this hedonic lifestyle assumes that life is only once, therefore they feel like enjoying life to feel happy and free without limits. This also affects the activity of drinking coffee. In the past, people only knew black coffee, ground coffee, or brewed coffee and consumed it at home or in regular coffee shops. However, now there is a shift with prestige. So that some urban communities have become part of the lifestyle. The purpose of this study was to describe, relate and influence self-concept and conformity to the hedonic lifestyle of coffee shop consumers. The results of the self-concept scale reliability test using Fitts' theory, namely the Tennese Self Concept Scale (TSCS) yielded a Cronbach alpha value of 0.942, for the results of the conformity scale reliability test using Taylor's theory produced a Cronbach alpha value of 0.945, and for the hedonic lifestyle scale reliability test results using Wells and Tigert's theory produces a Cronbach alpha value of 0.945. The results of the Spearman rank correlation test show that there is a negative relationship between self-concept and hedonic lifestyle from the self-concept scale using a scale from Fitts theory, namely the Tennese Self-Concept Scale (TSCS) with a coefficient (r) of r = -0.330. There is a positive relationship between conformity and a hedonic lifestyle using the conformity scale removed from Taylor to produce a coefficient (r) of r = 0.545. The results of the relationship between the Tennese Self Concept Scale (TSCS) and the conformity scale yield a value of F = 29,470. Keywords: self-concept, conformity, hedonic lifestyle, coffee shop
