Abstract

Natural Science (IPA) is the study of the universe, which reveals everything related to the universe. This research is a literature study that examines and analyzes the results of previous studies. This type of research uses a qualitative approach where the data analysis process places more emphasis on concluding comparisons of literature reviews from several journals. This study intends to describe the application of the use of the Contextual Teaching and Learning Model to improve learning outcomes in science subjects for elementary school students. The results of the study show that the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning Model can improve science learning outcomes in three aspects, namely cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. This model emphasizes the activeness of students in learning the material. In the process learning is carried out actively, creatively, productively, through collaboration, direct experience of students, application concepts and in pleasant situations. Thus the Contextual Teaching and Learning Model can improve learning outcomes in the science subject matter of motion energy for elementary school students.
