Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of self-regulation and optimism on the career anxiety of final year students. This research is a quantitative research with random sampling method. Thus, the sampling technique used is Stratified Random Sampling. Data collection was carried out using preliminary interviews and questionnaires on the psychological scale of self-regulation, optimism and career anxiety. The reliability test was carried out using Cronbach's Alpha technique with the help of SPSS version 25 for windows and produced a value of ralpha = 0.871 for the SelfRegulation scale, ralpha = 0.888 for the Optimism scale and ralpha = 0.874 for the Career Anxiety scale. Hypothesis testing using the Pearson product moment correlation, in testing the first hypothesis for the relationship between self-regulation and career anxiety variables produces a correlation coefficient r = -0.571, p = 0.000 (p <0.05), which means self-regulation has a significant negative relationship to behavior Career Anxiety. Then in testing the second hypothesis for the relationship between Optimism and Career Anxiety variables, it produces a correlation coefficient of r = -0.601, p = 0.000 (p <0.05), which means that Optimism has a significant negative relationship to Career Anxiety behavior. In testing the correlation of multiple linear regression using SPSS version 25 for Windows, it produces a value of F = 252.670, p = 0.000 (p <0.05), which means that there is an influence between self-regulation and optimism with career anxiety. By obtaining a coefficient of determination R2 (R Square) of 0.619, it is said that selfregulation and optimism contribute 61.9% to career anxiety, while 38.1% are influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
