Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of the Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) learning model on the reading comprehension ability of elementary school students. In Indonesian learning, in reality, it is still not in demand by students and students' reading comprehension ability is still relatively low. There are several problems that occur in the ability to read students ' comprehension in elementary schools such as students still having difficulty in understanding the content of reading, students having difficulty finding the main idea, students having difficulty answering questions according to the content of the reading, students have not been able to re-explain the content of the reading is in its own language, and the student has not been able to infer the content of the reading text. This CIRC learning model can be used in overcoming problems in the student's ability to read comprehension. The research method used in this study is a type of Systematic Literature Review (SLR) research from 17 journals resulting from the application of the Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) learning model to the reading comprehension ability of elementary school students from 2013-2022. Literature studies or literature studies of this type of research are used to obtain information and data by identifying / examining sources from scientific articles in accordance with the title under study. From the results of the literature and research on several articles that have been carried out, the use of the Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) learning model has proven to be influential and can improve students' comprehension reading skills in Indonesian lessons in elementary schools, because with the application of the CIRC learning model which is coherent such as the activity of students reading each other, correcting each other, and students discussing each other will make it easier for students to remember and understanding a concept, students more easily understand the content of the reading text, and it is easier to determine the main idea, the structure of the text / key points in the text as a whole. So that way, the use of this CIRC model has a positive impact on students and is effective for use in improving students' reading comprehension skills in Indonesian learning.
