Abstract

Loneliness is a common psychological problem experienced by migrant students due to the challenges of adapting to a new environment and living apart from their families and friends. This study aimed to examine the relationship between social media self-disclosure, social support, and loneliness among migrant students at Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi. This quantitative correlational study involved 96 migrant students selected through nonprobability snowball sampling. Data were collected using the Loneliness Scale, Self- Disclosure Scale, and Social Support Scale, which demonstrated construct validity. Cronbach's Alpha coefficients were 0.915, 0.932, and 0.920, respectively. Data were analyzed using Spearman's rho correlation and multiple linear regression in SPSS version 26. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between self-disclosure and loneliness (r = 0.586; p = 0.000) and a negative and significant relationship between social support and loneliness (r = −0.439; p = 0.000). Both variables also simultaneously affected loneliness (F = 54.106; p = 0.000) and explained 52.8% of its variance (Adjusted R² = 0.528).
