Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh terjadinya perubahan luas dan kerapatan vegetasi mangrove di wilayah pesisir Kabupaten Bekasi yang dipengaruhi oleh aktivitas manusia dan faktor alam. Penurunan kualitas ekosistem mangrove berdampak pada fungsi ekologis dan sosial ekonomi wilayah pesisir. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sebaran, perubahan luas, kerapatan vegetasi mangrove, serta faktor penyebab dan dampaknya pada tahun 1994, 2004, 2014, dan 2024. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis penginderaan jauh dengan memanfaatkan Citra Landsat Multitemporal serta pendekatan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG). Analisis dilakukan melalui pengolahan citra, klasifikasi tutupan lahan, serta perhitungan indeks vegetasi (NDVI) untuk menentukan tingkat kerapatan vegetasi mangrove. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi dinamika perubahan luas vegetasi mangrove yang bervariasi pada setiap periode pengamatan, dengan adanya peningkatan di beberapa wilayah dan penurunan di wilayah lain. Perubahan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh alih fungsi lahan menjadi tambak, permukiman, serta faktor alami seperti abrasi dan intrusi air laut. Kerapatan vegetasi mangrove juga mengalami perubahan yang mencerminkan kondisi kesehatan ekosistem Kata Kunci: Vegetasi Mangrove, Perubahan Luas Vegetasi Mangrove, Kerapatan Vegetasi Mangrove, Citra Landsat, SIG This study was motivated by changes in the extent and density of mangrove vegetation in the coastal areas of Bekasi Regency, which have been influenced by human activities and natural factors. The decline in the quality of the mangrove ecosystem has impacted the ecological and socioeconomic functions of the coastal region. The objective of this study is to determine the distribution, changes in area, and density of mangrove vegetation, as well as the contributing factors and their impacts in 1994, 2004, 2014, and 2024. The methods employed include remote sensing analysis utilizing multitemporal Landsat imagery and a Geographic Information System (GIS) approach. The analysis was conducted through image processing, land cover classification, and calculation of the vegetation index (NDVI) to determine the level of mangrove vegetation density. The results of the study indicate that there are varying dynamics in the changes in mangrove vegetation area across each observation period, with increases in some areas and decreases in others. These changes were influenced by land-use conversion to fish ponds and settlements, as well as natural factors such as erosion and seawater intrusion. Mangrove vegetation density also underwent changes that reflect the health of the ecosystem.
