Abstract

ABSTRACT Niken Pratiwi, 41182911210036. “THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ISLAMIC VALUES IN SHAPING INDEPENDENT CHARACTER OF CHILDREN AGED 5–6 YEARS AT TKIT RIYADH EL JANNAH ISLAMIC SCHOOL” Study Program of Islamic Education, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi. This study aims to describe the learning system of TKIT Riyadh El Jannah Islamic School in implementing Islamic values to shape the independent character of children aged 5–6 years, to explain the methods used by teachers in implementing Islamic values, and to identify the outcomes of the implementation of Islamic values in shaping children’s independent character after participating in the learning process at the school. This research employed a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of the principal, teachers, and parents of students at TKIT Riyadh El Jannah Islamic School. Data were analyzed using an interactive model, which included data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the implementation of Islamic values in shaping the independent character of children aged 5–6 years at TKIT Riyadh El Jannah Islamic School is carried out in an integrated manner through daily habituation, teacher role modeling, contextual learning activities, and collaboration with parents. Islamic values are applied in children’s daily activities, such as praying, muroja’ah, practicing worship, taking responsibility for personal tasks, and developing discipline and independence. The results show improvements in children’s independence, responsibility, discipline, and religious behavior both at school and at home. However, the evaluation of children’s independent character development is still qualitative in nature and has not been supported by standardized quantitative measurements. In addition, there are variations in achievement among children, and strengthening the continuity of habituation between school and family is still needed so that the development of children’s independent character can grow optimally and sustainably Keywords: Islamic values, independent character, children aged 5–6 years, early childhood education.
