Abstract

Palm frond waste in an area of 1 ha can produce 10 tons/ha/year. Optimization of oil palm fronds waste is done by processing it into a product that has a selling value and use value. Palm frond waste has a fairly high crude fiber content of 50.94% with a fiber strength of 25.6 g/tex, which can be used as raw material for rope. Palm fiber waste is increasing day by day along with the development of the palm oil industry, while the waste is not used optimally so it is only thrown away and burned. One of the efforts that can be done is to optimize waste palm fiber into materials for making composite boards. This study aims to analyze the Analysis of the Effect of Hot Press Temperature Variations on the Impack Test Value of Oil Palm Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene (Pp) Composites with differences in the position of the oil palm midrib fibers arranged diagonally with a size of 2-5 mm reinforced with oil palm midrib fibers with different temperatures. namely 190oC, 200oC, 210oC dan 225oC with a composition ratio between palm midrib fiber and matrix of 25:75. The method in the manufacture of composite boards by hot press is to use the raw material of palm fronds which are taken from the fiber and polypropylene (pp) plastic in the form of ore with a size of 1-2 mm. Oil palm midrib fiber is processed through a scouring and bleaching process which aims to increase its strength
