Abstract

The General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), which is one of the election organizing institutions tasked with supervising the election process. The problem in this study is that there are still many violations, both administrative, code of ethics, and election crimes in Bekasi Regency. This study was conducted to determine how Bawaslu's role in the 2019 election, what obstacles were overcome and efforts made by Bawaslu Bekasi Regency in 2019. The research in this case uses a constructive paradigm with a qualitative research method accompanied by a case study research approach. The data collection techniques are; observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study state that the role of the General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) is in accordance with applicable regulations. This study uses the Role Concept Theory according to Soerjono Soekanto (2012:213) which consists of three (3) Indicators, namely; Role Perception, Role Expectations, Role Conflict.
