Abstract
This study aims to analyze the maintenance system of Cane Cutter and Unigrator machines at PT PG Rajawali II, Tersana Baru Unit, as an effort to improve production effectiveness. Currently, machine maintenance still faces challenges in the form of a high frequency of failures and downtime, which adversely affect the continuity of the production process. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The research stages include identification of machine functions and failures, analysis of failure modes and their effects, and determination of component criticality levels based on the risk of failure. Data were collected through observation, interviews, literature review, and the collection of historical data on failures and downtime of the Cane Cutter and Unigrator machines. The results of the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis were used as the basis for determining appropriate maintenance strategies. The results show that maintenance activities are still predominantly corrective in nature, leading to high downtime and repair costs. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance the implementation of planned preventive maintenance in order to reduce recurring failures, minimize machine downtime, and improve overall production effectiveness.
