Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Describe the concept of Islamic education in the book Fitrah Based Education by Harry Santosa. 2) Analyze the relevance of the Islamic education concept in the book Fitrah Based Education by Harry Santosa to Islamic character education. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through document analysis and relevant literature, then analyzed systematically using content analysis techniques. The results show that: 1) The concept of Islamic education in the book Fitrah Based Education emphasizes the development of human fitrah (innate nature) as a pure potential from birth, through a holistic approach covering aspects of faith, morality, talents, physical development, reasoning, aesthetics, social interaction, and overall growth. This concept aims for children to grow in accordance with their fitrah, not only being cognitively intelligent but also spiritually and morally upright. 2) The relevance of the Fitrah Based Education concept to Islamic character education is very significant, as both emphasize the importance of instilling the values of tawhid (monotheism), noble character, and the habituation of positive attitudes and behaviors from an early age. This approach is believed to be effective in shaping students who possess Islamic character, moral integrity, spiritual strength, and social responsibility, enabling them to face contemporary challenges based on Islamic values.
