Abstract

This research examines the role of exposure in English language acquisition. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach. The aim of this study was to determine the extent to which exposure to English influences language acquisition. The theory used as a reference in this research is Krashen's (1982) theory which includes types of exposure, namely direct exposure (planned exposure) and indirect exposure (natural exposure). From the research results, it was found that there were 5 types of exposure received by students. This includes English language courses, English tutoring, English posters in the subject's house, English song platlists and social media..
