Abstract
ABSTRACT The Implementation of the Experiential Learning Method in Aqidah Akhlak Subject to Improve Students’ Learning Outcomes and Academic Achievement at PKBM Isma Al Mudawamah Author: Hayatun Thoyyibah Affiliation: Graduate Student of Islamic Education Email: hayatunthoyyibah49@gmail.com This study is motivated by the importance of Aqidah Akhlak education in shaping students' religious and moral character, particularly at PKBM Isma Al Mudawamah, where students come from diverse backgrounds. In this context, conventional teaching methods are perceived as less effective in improving students’ learning outcomes and academic achievement. Therefore, this research aims to examine the implementation of the Experiential Learning method in the Aqidah Akhlak subject and its impact on students’ learning outcomes and academic performance. The study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The research subjects consist of the Aqidah Akhlak teacher, PKBM students, and relevant instructional documents. The findings reveal that the Experiential Learning method is contextually implemented through hands-on practice, reflective experiences, moral value formulation based on Islamic teachings, and social experimentation. This method has proven effective in enhancing students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning outcomes. Academic performance has also improved, as evidenced by higher academic scores, increased active participation, and more positive attitudes during the learning process. However, the implementation of this method faces several challenges, including limited instructional time, inadequate learning facilities, and diverse student backgrounds. To address these challenges, teachers employ strategies such as utilizing simple technology, adopting flexible scheduling, applying a humanistic approach, and fostering collaboration in social projects. This study recommends strengthening institutional support to ensure the optimal and sustainable implementation of the Experiential Learning method in improving the quality of Aqidah Akhlak instruction.
