Abstract
This study aims to analyze the academic supervision strategies implemented by school principals through interpersonal communication approaches in improving teacher professionalism at SMAN 1 Cikarang Pusat. The focus of the study covers three main aspects, namely academic supervision strategies, the implementation of interpersonal communication, and its impact on improving teacher professionalism. This study employs a qualitative approach using the case study method. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation, with research subjects comprising school principals, teachers, and educational staff. Data analysis was conducted in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that academic supervision strategies are implemented in a structured manner through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. In each stage, teachers are actively and participatively involved, demonstrating collaborative efforts between the principal and teachers in improving the quality of learning. School principals effectively applied interpersonal communication by promoting openness, empathy, and providing support to teachers. This communication was not only informative but also built harmonious and productive working relationships. This approach enabled the creation of a more conducive and trusting working atmosphere between leaders and teachers. The implementation of academic supervision strategies supported by interpersonal communication has proven to improve teacher professionalism in four main aspects: pedagogical, personal, social, and professional. Collaboration through good communication contributes to creating a positive work environment in the school. Thus, interpersonal communication-based academic supervision plays an important role in supporting the improvement of education quality at SMAN 1 Cikarang Pusat.
