Abstract

The development of media today is a result of adaptation to the dynamics of ongoing social changes. This process occurs evolutionarily, transitioning from traditional media to new media, including the shift from print media to television, and eventually to the virtual world or online media, as stated by Fiddler. These changes did not occur suddenly but rather through a series of longer media transformations. Online media, as a product of the internet's influence, facilitates the global distribution of information through cable networks. Information searching has also changed, enabling easy access via personal devices. IDXChannel, as one of the online media platforms, has become a primary platform to fulfill informational needs, particularly related to the capital market. The goal of this research is to measure the impact of the effectiveness of communication through IDXChannel's online media in meeting information needs regarding the capital market using a descriptive quantitative method. The sampling technique used is probability sampling with a random sampling method, applying strata samples with a total of 100 respondents. The analysis technique used is simple linear regression. The results of this study show that communication effectiveness (X) has a significant effect on fulfilling information needs (Y). This is proven by a t-value of 10.945 > t-table 1.994 and a t-value of 4.222 > t-table 1.994, with significance values of 0.000 and 0.000.
