Abstract
ABSTRACT PERAN KEPEMIMPINAN TRANSFORMASIONAL KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN KOMITMEN PROFESIONAL DAN KINERJA GURU DI SDIT AL MUCHTAR KOTA BEKASI Nurul Fadllillah Islamic Education Master’s Study Program nfadllillah@gmail.com This study aims to describe professional commitment, teacher performance and principal's efforts in improving professional commitment and teacher performance at SDIT Al Muchtar Kota Bekasi with the role of transformational leadership of the principal. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study type. Collecting data sourced from primary data and secondary data through data collection activities with observation, interviews and document studies. In this study, the data obtained was analyzed by simplifying and compiling data and finding meaning and ensuring accuracy. Data validity testing was carried out using triangulation techniques from various sources, methods, or perspectives, so as to produce a deeper understanding. The results of this study indicate that teachers at SDIT Al Muchtar have a strong professional commitment based on its dimensions and indicators, namely: a) Affective Dimension, teachers feel love and pride in being part of SDIT Al Muchtar so that they are ready to work in accordance with all school operational standards, b) Normative Dimension, teachers feel morally bound to remain members of their profession, have a great sense of responsibility in carrying out their profession and c) Continuous Dimension, teachers are willing to develop their careers and try to update their abilities by following training and further education to improve their skills. Teacher performance at SDIT Al Muchtar is very good based on its dimensions and indicators, namely: a) Learning Planning, revealing that teachers prepare learning implementation plans, prepare teaching materials, design learning strategies using relevant learning methods and learning media to achieve learning objectives, b) Learning Implementation, revealing that teachers start the learning process in an effective way, are skilled at utilizing the learning environment, encourage students to actively participate in learning and close learning activities that are effective, c) Learning Assessment, revealing that teachers use various assessment strategies and methods to monitor student development and learning outcomes and use assessment results to provide feedback. In the role of transformational leadership to improve professional commitment, the principal's efforts are: a) Idealized Influence, building trust, providing an example, instilling values, communicating the school's vision and mission consistently and acting with integrity and ethics in carrying out their duties., b) Intellectual Stimulation, encouraging teacher professional development, opening up space for participation in decision making, and creating a culture of constructive dialogue. c) Individualized Consideration, showing personal concern by understanding the individual needs of teachers, responding to their aspirations and establishing emotionally supportive relationships. To improve teacher performance, the principal strives in his transformational leadership role by: a) Idealized Influence, showing steadfastness in facing challenges and obstacles, b) Inspirational Motivation, raising the spirit and enthusiasm of teachers in working and various school activities, giving awards for achievements, and creating a positive and collaborative work climate, c) Intellectual Stimulation, encouraging teachers to think critically, creatively, and be open to innovation, and continue to develop knowledge and, d) Individualized Consideration, showing concern for teacher professional development and providing support in solving problems faced. At SDIT Al Muchtar, through the transformational leadership of the principal, all teachers are motivated to create a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) every year in the form of a Statement of Willingness to Extend the Term of Service to carry out their profession as part of the principal's efforts to increase professional commitment and carry out supervision activities periodically every semester to improve teacher performance.
