Abstract

PT Putera Mandiri Tehnik is a car body company facing a 41.8% increase in total inventory cost from Rp 120,271,000 (2022) to Rp 170,546,000 (2024). This problem occurs due to stockouts that trigger emergency purchases at a cost 89-176% higher than the normal price. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) method and determine the optimal lot sizing technique to minimize the total cost of raw material inventory at PT Putera Mandiri Tehnik. Data collection methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data used in this study for analysis is data on raw material requirements for 2024 or 1 year. Data analysis was carried out using the MRP method with lot sizing techniques Lot for Lot (LFL), Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), and Period Order Quantity (POQ) using Microsoft Excel software. The results showed that the LFL technique was the most optimal with a total inventory cost of Rp 47,608,625 for both types of iron plates, compared to EOQ of Rp 137.335.250, POQ and the company's actual conditions. The application of the LFL method can result in cost savings of up to 72% of the company's actual total inventory costs.
