Abstract
Speaking skills are one of the important aspects for students. These skills can help students communicate and interact with others. However, not all students possess good speaking skills. Many students are not fluent in speaking Indonesian or tend to use regional languages that are often rude or impolite. This occurs because students are not actively involved in the learning process. As a result, their ability to speak proper and correct Indonesian is negatively affected. To address this issue, Role Playing is categorized as one of the methods to develop students' speaking skills. The aim of this research is to identify the role of Role Playing in improving the speaking skills of elementary school students, particularly in Indonesian language subjects. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to thoroughly examine literature related to the implementation of Role Playing in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level. The findings of this study show that Role Playing can be an interesting option to optimize the quality of speaking skills in Indonesian language lessons.
