Abstract

This study discusses the management of students, the activities of students in the Islamic boarding school environment and the obstacles faced by the santri department at the Babussalam Islamic Boarding School, Cimanggis, Depok, West Java. This study aims to explore and analyze the management of santri in increasing the efficiency of santri activities, using research methods; a qualitative approach is a research procedure that produces descriptive data, with data collection through interviews, observation and document review. The research subjects were the principal, the students and the teachers/ustadz who were included in the management of the santri and the Babussalam Islamic Boarding School, Cimanggis, Depok as the research site. It is hoped that this research will become a form of scientific contribution to the world of education, because the form of orderliness of students against the rules that have been set by the santri department, becomes a reflection of the success of santri as a substitute for parents for students while in the boarding school environment. Various obstacles faced by santri to increase the efficiency of santri activities, it requires good management of santri and strategies so that Islamic boarding schools can achieve the goals that have been set. The results showed that; The management and strategy of the santri are the success factors in producing superior santri as the Rabbani generation, the successor of the Prophets' treatises. The activities of the students in the Islamic boarding school environment are activities that are solid and full of benefits, because the rules set by the santri section are rules that are in accordance with ijtihad based on the Qur'an and As-Sunnah. The santri sometimes encounter obstacles in controlling the students, so that the santri prepare various handling efforts for the realization of the goals of the Islamic boarding school.
