Abstract

This study is entitled The Role of the Bekasi City Social Service in Distributing Social Assistance for Poor Families Through the Non-Cash Food Assistance Program. The purpose of the study was to determine the Role of the Bekasi City Social Service in Distributing Social Assistance for Poor Families Through the Non-Cash Food Assistance Program. This study uses Malayu S.P Hasibuan's theory (2011: 40-41). The methods used are interviews, observations, literature studies and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Role of the Bekasi City Social Service in Distributing Assistance for Poor Families Through the Non-Cash Assistance Program (BPNT) has generally been running well. Analysis of the Role of the Bekasi City Social Service as follows: (a) Planning. In the planning aspect, it shows that routine meetings and distribution mechanisms in the distribution of BPNT social assistance are still not optimal, because routine meetings are only formalities without producing strategic steps, then coordination between parties only relies on WhatsApp groups as a means of communication without direct monitoring in the field. (b) Organization is not optimal. Limited Human Resources (HR) number of officers in the field, then slow response to public complaints. (c) Direction. In the direction aspect, it shows that technical meetings and information delivered must have a legal basis, schedule, technical procedures to handling complaints. (d) Control is still not optimal, this is caused by the limited number of social officers, still using manual verification, as a result of which the workload of officers is increasing. The obstacles of the Bekasi City Social Service in the Distribution of Social Assistance for Poor Families through the Non-Cash Food Assistance Program (BPNT) are (a) Routine Meetings to Identify the Needs of the Community Requiring Social Assistance Through the Non-Cash Food Assistance Program (BPNT) Which are Not Optimal. (b) Obstacles in the Validation Process and Updating of KPM Beneficiary Family Data). (c) Distribution Mechanism in the Distribution of BPNT Social Assistance Which is Not Optimal. In dealing with obstacles, the role of the Bekasi City Social Service in the Distribution of Social Assistance for Poor Families through the Non-Cash Food Assistance Program (BPNT) is (a) Providing official warnings, affirming responsibilities between institutions, and preparing post-meeting evaluation reports. (b) Coordinating with RT/RW, PKK cadres, community leaders to produce data updates. (c) The SIIJAH application is a step forward in supporting the distribution of social assistance.
