Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the method of raw material inventory management applied to CV. Bungseng Jaya, to analyze and compare company policies with the EOQ method at CV. Bungseng Jaya, to determine the most efficient method in raw material inventory management at CV. Bungseng Jaya sourced from raw material usage data in 2022 to calculate and analyze data using company policies and the EOQ method assisted by the Ms. Excel program. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, data collection techniques are carried out by means of interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results of the study obtained are the amount of raw material purchases according to the company of 9,395.83 kg kg with a purchase frequency of 12 times a year and an inventory cost of Rp. 7,075,000, while using the EOQ method, raw material purchases amounted to 25,010.77 kg with a purchase frequency of 5 times a year and an inventory cost of Rp. 4,658,325.88. To anticipate unwanted things related to raw material inventory, the EOQ method advises the company to provide a safety stock of 2,864.07 kg and reorder materials when the raw material is 3,177.26 kg. With this EOQ method, it can avoid delays in the amount of raw material provision, because the provision of raw materials can be ensured to be constant and according to lead time. In general, it can be concluded that the EOQ method is better because it can increase cost efficiency in the company compared to company policy.
