Abstract

Jalan Raya Ciherang Lame is a Class IIIC local road with a length of 3.2 km that has suffered significant damage, including potholes, cracks, and surface depressions, disrupting traffic flow and increasing the risk of accidents. This study aims to assess the level of road damage using the Road Condition Index (RCI), determine the overlay thickness based on the Road Design System (RDS) 1993 method, and design an appropriate drainage system following SNI 03-3424-1994. The analysis results indicate an RCI value of 2.993, categorized as very poor. The overlay design includes a 3 cm camber layer, a 2 cm minimum overlay, a 15 cm overlay requirement, and a 5 cm layer shaping, resulting in a total overlay thickness of 25 cm. The drainage system is designed with a width of 1 m, a height of 0.5 m, a freeboard of 0.2 m, and a slope of 1.728%, meeting the planning standards. Thus, the implementation of an optimal overlay and drainage system is necessary to enhance road service quality and mitigate the impact of road damage on traffic flow.
