Abstract

This research aims to design a coffee bean dryer that uses a heater as a substitute for sunlight in the drying process. The heater and fan will automatically turn on when the temperature reaches 60°C. All collected data will be processed by NodeMCU and sent to Firebase Web platform. By utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology, this tool is expected to help coffee farmers monitor and automate the coffee bean drying process. The Digital Humidity and Temperature (DHT22) sensor can measure an average temperature of less than 60 with an average humidity of 60% during the day.The design of this coffee bean dryer focuses on integrating the DHT22 sensor to monitor temperature and humidity, two critical factors in ensuring optimal drying and maintaining the quality of the coffee beans during the drying process. The data transmission process to Firebase google via the internet connection takes an average time of 0.02 seconds or 10 milliseconds, indicating an excellent response time. In an IoT based automatic drying system, this technology provides an opportunity to develop more efficient, stable, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly solutions in the coffee bean drying in an automated and controlled manner.
