Abstract

Indonesia, as a country based on law, is committed to providing protection and guarantees of human rights to every citizen from various forms of violence, discrimination and other crimes. Despite this, cases of violence, both physical and non-physical, are still widespread in this country, harming all groups regardless of gender or age. This violence makes women and children vulnerable, especially because it is difficult for them to resist attacks. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing programs to protect women and children as well as in handling cases of violence against women and children and community perceptions regarding the protection of women and children. This research uses a constructivist paradigm and uses qualitative methods with a case study research design. The data processing technique consists of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the Women's and Children's Protection Program is running properly by handling cases of violence well, supported by many government institutions and the facilities provided by the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Service are very adequate in handling violence against women and children. The Women and Children Protection Program is considered effective in providing protection and handling cases of violence against women and children. However, to achieve maximum results, increased program outreach is needed. Continuous efforts to strengthen service networks and accessibility will make this program increasingly impactful for the wider community.
