Abstract
The nomination of Gibran Rakabuming Raka, President Joko Widodo's eldest son, as vice president in the 2024 election has sparked controversy in Indonesia's political scene and raised public suspicion of the head of state's intention to build a political dynasty. This event began with the passing of Constitutional Court decision Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023 regarding the age limit for nominating presidential and vice presidential candidates. This research aims to find out how Sindonews.com framed the news related to the controversy over Gibran Rakabuming Raka as Prabowo Subianto's vice president for the period October 16 to October 22, 2023. The theory used in this research is Robert N. Entman's framing model by Defining Problems, Diagnose Cause, Make Moral Judgement, Treatment Recommendation or Suggest Remedies. The research method used is qualitative content analysis, which is a method commonly used to understand the symbolic message of a discourse or text, in this case Sindonews.com online media news. The results of the analysis from the 7 news articles revealed that the news on Sindonews.com focuses more on criticism and possible controversy arising from Gibran's candidacy as a vice presidential candidate. With the dominance of critical narratives and the lack of positive stories, Sindonews.com's coverage can have a significant impact in shaping public views that tend to be unfavorable to Gibran.
