Abstract

Community Empowerment, especially physical development in Telagapure Village, West Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency, which has not been implemented optimally. This condition is due to the lack of the role of the Telagapure Village government and the lack of involvement of the local community in the implementation of village development, as well as the lack of information and socialization about the physical development plan. Therefore, the author compiled a thesis with the title: Community Empowerment in Telagapure Village, West Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency (Studies in the Field of Infrastructure Development). The identification of the problems studied in this thesis are: Community Empowerment in Telagapure Village, West Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency in the field of Physical development in Telagapure Village, West Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency, the obstacles faced in the implementation of community empowerment programs, and what efforts/strategies have been taken. in overcoming existing barriers. These problems were researched and analyzed by descriptive analytical research methods and data collection techniques through observation, documentation studies, interviews, and distributing questionnaires to 32 respondents, namely the Telagapure Village government and community elements represented by the local RT and RW. To answer the problem of this research, the writer uses the aspect of participation in the context of community empowerment in development as stated by Sayogyo (2009) as follows: 1. The planning stage is community participation and empowerment that determines development policies at the village/sub-district level. 2. The implementation stage is community participation and empowerment in planning the implementation of development. 3. The monitoring and evaluation stage is the participation and empowerment of the community to participate in assessing the results of development according to the size and experience of the community itself. Based on the results of research, discussion and analysis, it is known that in increasing community participation in the field of physical development in Telagapure Village, West Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency through the aspect of participation, it has reached 65.55% or good category. The aspect of participation that has not been implemented optimally is the implementation aspect (47.19%). In this community empowerment, several obstacles were found, namely: the lack of the role of the Telagapure Village government and the attitude of the government that was less concerned about the community in village development, and not optimal information/socialization of the physical development plan. Efforts are being made to overcome obstacles, namely increasing community involvement, empowering local communities by involving them in the planning process and increasing participation, and making the roles of RT and RW heads effective in informing the community about the physical development program plan.
