Abstract

Water is used for daily activities such as drinking, bathing, cooking and washing. On this basis, the availability of water that meets the criteria for clean water is highly prioritized in both urban and rural areas. Insufficient water availability when compared to needs, will lead to a crisis and water scarcity which of course makes it difficult for people to meet their basic daily needs. The government makes a policy that refers to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at point 6, namely the provision of clean water and sanitation, and is followed up by the local government carried out by the village government with the program "Provision of Community-Based Drinking Water and Sanitation (PAMSIMAS)" which began in 2008, one of which was in the village of Karangsetia which became the locus of this research. The Sustainable Development Goals in Indonesia have been set in 2015. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the Community-Based Drinking Water and Sanitation (PAMSIMAS) program in Karang Setia Village and to analyze the role of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in implementing the Program. Provision of Community-Based Drinking Water and Sanitation (PAMSIMAS) in Karang Setia Village, as well as to analyze community participation in the success of the Community-Based Water Supply and Sanitation Program (PAMSIMAS) in Karang Setia Village. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis, data collection methods using in-depth interviews, observation and literature study. The results of the study found that the Karangsetia Village PAMSIMAS program could not meet the target in accordance with the PAMSIMAS objectives, and there were still many factors that had to be addressed by the Karangsetia Village apparatus in an effort to achieve targets in accordance with the PAMSIMAS program objectives.
