Abstract

The purpose of the research is to find out the causes of waste that occur in the unloading process flow and to provide the most efficient solution to overcome the problem at PT Mandom Indonesia Tbk. The method used is the Waste Assessment Model (WAM) method, where this process consists of three steps, namely Seven Waste Relationship (SWR), Waste Relationship Matrix (WRM), and Waste Assessment Questionnaire (WAQ). Efficiency and effectiveness calculations and fishbone diagrams. The use of this method is in accordance with the formulation of this research problem, namely WAM to provide the causes of waste, efficiency and effectiveness to find out whether the process is efficient and effective, and fishbone diagrams are used to analyze the causes of waste. This type of research uses a qualitative method. Data sources obtained from primary data obtained directly from companies and secondary data obtained from books and other media sources. Based on the results of the research, there are 7 causes of waste that occur in the process of unloading the material warehouse at PT Mandom Indonesia. Based on the results of management using the WAM method, a ranking was obtained for each cause of waste that occurred, namely motion 17.78%, overprocessing 17.75%, defect 15.07%, overproduction 14.91%, inventory 13.02%, waiting 12.30%, transportation 9.17%. Of the 7 causes of waste, the most dominant is motion 17.78%. Based on the results of the fishbone diagram, the most dominant cause of waste motion is caused by material factors. So the researcher gave advice to PT Mandom Indonesia Tbk. so that the material is given a special mark.
