Abstract

This research is based on the low understanding of students' concepts in elementary school mathematics subjects in various regions in Indonesia which has been researched from various journal articles. This is marked by the number of students who have not reached the predetermined KKM. The problem of low understanding of concepts in mathematics subjects is caused by students having difficulty understanding the material, the methods used by teachers are not suitable, and students' interest in learning mathematics is low due to boredom that occurs during the learning process. One of the solutions to overcome the above problems is to apply the Team Assisted Individualization learning model, because the Team Assisted Individualization learning model is one of the models that is fun for students and involves students directly and increases the student's activeness to move. This study aims to determine the application of the Team Assisted Individualization learning model as an alternative in improving the understanding of mathematics subject concepts in elementary schools. The research method used is a systematic review or Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by analyzing the results of previous research related to the use of the Team Assisted Individualization learning model on the understanding of mathematics subject concepts in elementary schools. The sample analysis in this study is 5 journal articles that have been published in the range of 2018-2023. Based on the results of the analysis, there are differences in the results in the application of the Team Assisted Individualization learning model, but overall this study shows the conclusion that the Team Assisted Individualization learning model is suitable for use in the learning process, provides a positive influence and can improve the understanding of mathematical concepts.
