Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the methods used by PAI teachers to increase students' self-confidence and PAI teachers' strategies that can increase students' self-confidence at SMA Negeri 1 Tambun Utara as well as ways to encourage students to have the courage to appear in front of the class. Self-confidence is something that every human being must have. Having self-confidence will make people more courageous in developing their potential. For this reason, the presence of religious activities carried out by Islamic religious education teachers is very important. The problem in this research is the lack of self-confidence of students at SMA Negeri 1 Tambun Utara. The aim of this research is to describe PAI Teachers' Strategies for Increasing Students' Self-Confidence at SMA Negeri 1 Tambun Utara. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research carried out in class XII from November to January 2024. The subjects of this research are Islamic religious education teachers and class . Data collection techniques use several methods, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used consist of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of this research can be concluded that there are several findings from the strategy of Islamic religious education teachers in increasing students' self-confidence at SMA Negeri 1 Tambun Utara through religious activities including: (1) Azan and (2) Reading prayers during ceremonies. The method used by Islamic religious education teachers to increase students' self-confidence at SMA Negeri 1 Tambun Utara is by (1) Giving appreciation and (2) Giving trust to students. And the method that Islamic religious education teachers use to encourage students to have the courage to appear in front of the class is by holding Muhadhoroh activities.
