Abstract
Sandblasting is a process that aims to remove paint or rust from metal by using pressurized sand as an abrasive medium. This process is usually carried out by spraying abrasive in the form of glass beads at high pressure onto the metal surface. This research was carried out by varying the size of the spraying air pressure, namely, 6, 7, and 8 bar with glass beads sand abrasive. The specimen used is an engine block with a thickness of 5 mm. The test results show changes in pressure of 6, 7, and 9 bar. Sandblasting is a process used to clean surfaces by using high air pressure to emit abrasive particles onto the surface of the material. The sandblasting process can be used to level or smooth rough or uneven surfaces. This is useful for improving the aesthetic appearance or ensuring a smoother surface. For this type of sandblasting sand, there are several types of sand, namely: glass beads sand, silica sand, brown aluminum oxide sand, white aluminum oxide sand, and garnet sand.
