Abstract
The internet has become a basic need for society, from communication, education to entertainment, it relies heavily on internet connectivity. Network modernization continues to be carried out to increase bandwidth capacity in order to obtain increased video, voice and data multimedia services. The transmission medium that is suitable to meet these needs is fiber optic. This research aims to optimize the performance of the RT/RW Net network in Cibitung Residence Housing using an Optical Distribution Cabinet (ODC) which previously used a wireless network to become a Fiber to The Home (FTTH) network. The method used is Quality of Service (QoS). The QoS method is used to measure and evaluate several important parameters that affect network performance, such as throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss. The results of the research show that the average throughput increased from 30 Mbps to 40 Mbps, the average delay decreased from 12 ms to 8 ms, the average jitter decreased from 3 ms to 2 ms, and the average packet loss decreased from 1.2 % becomes 0.5% after implementation
