Abstract

ANALISIS OF THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND MICROSTRUCTURE OF 6061 ALUMINIUM MATERIAL RESULTING FROM FRICTION WELDING Aluminium 6061 is a type of aluminium materials that is widely used in industry. The method that can be used to solve problems that can be used aluminium problems is friction welding. In friction welding the process of joining metals occurs without melting ( solid state process), where the welding process occurs as a result of combining the rotation of on of the workpieces with the compressive force exerted by the rotating workpiece. Friction welding has microstructural mechanical properties. Parameters include time, friction, temperature, spindle rotation and chamfer angle this research aims to determine the effect of variations in spindle rotatiom and rotational speed on the mechanical properties of aluminium 606. The tensile test results were obtained from variations of 1000 rpm with a chamfer angle 30˚ with a value of 279,6 N/m². While the lowest tensile test results were obtained from variations of 1200 rpm with a 30˚ chamfer angle of 150,6 N/m². for testing the microstructure of this type of materials, that the shows that the presence of metal in the HAZ area of the Aluminium materials has reduced grain size.
