Abstract

Highways are a means of transportation that plays an important role in various community activities in an area, both urban and rural, in serving the movement of people and goods. harmony between the number of roads needed and the population density of Bekasi City, which is 2,543,676 people. (Central Statistics Agency for Bekasi City, 2020) traffic jams often occur. One of the roads that often experiences traffic jams is Jalan Raya Rawa Bugel-Jalan KH Muchtar Tabrani, Jalan Raya Rawa Bugel-Jalan KH Muchtar Tabrani is an unsignalized intersection with the classification of a local road and a collector road connecting to a class II arterial road with a 2-lane, 2-way road type that does not vary. The unsignaled intersection of Jalan Raya Rawa Bugel-Jalan KH Muchtar Tabrani, Bekasi City, is one of the roads where traffic jams often occur and the traffic is quite congested, especially during rush hours. Based on this research, researchers will describe the performance of unsignalized intersections on the Jalan Raya Rawa Bugel-Jalan KH. Muchtar Tabrani intersection service level. Research data consists of data on traffic volume, vehicle speed, side obstacles, intersection geometrics. Analysis method using the PTV Vissim and MKJI 1997 methods. The results of the intersection performance analysis using the MKJI 1997 method and PTV Vissim software obtained LOS category E which shows that the performance at the unsignalized intersection is inadequate or does not meet the requirements. So to improve the performance of the intersection with APILL installed, the performance increases from category E to C, meaning that the total flow at the unsignaled intersection of Jalan Raya Rawa Bugel-Jalan KH Muchtar Tabrani, Bekasi City with a total flow of 585-4,494 vehicles/hour, this shows the flow Traffic at the unsignaled intersection has exceeded the criteria for installing traffic lights, namely 750 vehicles/hour, so this intersection also shows the need to install an APILL/traffic light as a traffic controller.
