Abstract

This research was motivated by the low listening skills of students in learning Indonesian in class IV at SDN Jaka Mulya I Bekasi. This can be seen from students not correctly mentioning the important points in a story. It can be seen that students mentioning points that are not appropriate to the story, many students still make mistakes in determining the main idea in a story, students are not able to remember the important points well. such as the setting of the place, the setting of the atmosphere in the story seen when asked to mention the setting of the place, the students only mentioned 1 setting of the place, then the students had difficulty retelling it using their own language. It was seen that the students told the story still nervous and only briefly. The aim of this research is to improve Indonesian listening skills through the Directed Listening Thinking Ativity (DLTA) method for class IV students at SDN Jaka Mulya I Bekasi. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) and lasts for 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of 2 meetings consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. The subjects in this research were class IV students at SDN Jaka Mulya I Bekasi with a total of 28 students consisting of 15 female students and 13 male students. The criteria for research success are if 80% of the total number of students achieve a KKM score of 75. From the research results, it was found that the percentage of classical completeness in cycle I was 61% with an average value of 73. In cycle II the percentage of classical completeness increased to 82% with an average value of 80. This shows that there was an increase in students' listening skills after using Directed Listening Thinking Activity (DLTA) method. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Directed Listening Thinking Activity (DLTA) can improve Indonesian listening skills in class IV at SDN Jaka Mulya I Bekasi.
