Abstract

ABSTRACT Teuku Umar Street is a secondary arterial road with class I road which is located in Wanasari Village, Cibitung District, Bekasi Regency. One of the congestion points that often occurs on Jalan Teuku Umar is in front of the Main Market, this happens because at that point there are lots of shopping activities. In addition, the lack of traffic order, such as unofficial U-Turn facilities opened by unscrupulous parking attendants, is one of the factors that hinders the speed of vehicles due to the large number of vehicles carrying out U-Turn activities. The analytical method uses the Bina Marga method and is guided by the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual for Urban Roads. The output of this research is to know the value of road performance and handling steps to reduce congestion due to u-turns so that it can be used as advice and input for policy makers in engineering transportation. Based on calculations based on the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual, the research results obtained that the highest traffic volume occurred on Tuesday, 23 May 2023 at 17.00-18.00 WIB, west to east direction of 3616.6 pcu/hour and east to West of 3618.9 pcu/hour. The highest side resistance analysis results occurred on Tuesday, May 23 2023, West to East directions occurred at 17.00-18.00 WIB at 618.6 hours/hour including high class while East to West directions occurred at 17.00-18.00 WIB at 713.2 hours /hour including high class. The highest degree of saturation value occurred on Tuesday, 23 May 2023 at 17.00-18.00 WIB, the West to East direction was 1.23 including category F (obstructed current) while the East to West direction was 1.23 including category F (obstructed current).
