Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the optimal order quantity at CV JS Barokah if using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method and to find out whether the EOQ method can reduce the total cost of excessive inventory at CV JS Barokah. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The analysis carried out uses data on the purchase, use and sales of CV JS Barokah chilies in the period November 2022 to 2022. October 2023. The results of the research prove that according to CV JS Barokah, the purchase of raw materials per order is 178 kg with an average order quantity of 24 times the order frequency in one year, whereas according to the EOQ method calculation it is 456 kg for one order with a frequency of 8 orders in one year. Based on the results of inventory cost analysis for the period November 2022 to. October 2023, according to CV JS Barokah's calculations, shows that the total inventory costs incurred were IDR 3,725,000.00, whereas according to EOQ the total raw material inventory costs were only IDR 1,697,000.00. Therefore, it can be concluded that by implementing EOQ, savings of IDR 2,028,000.00 are obtained. In general, it can be concluded that by implementing EOQ, CV JS Barokah can reduce the total excessive inventory costs when compared to the calculations carried out by CV JS Barokah.
