Abstract

Education is the most important part of life, and must be in line with developments over time. Based on the National Education System Law no. 20 of 2003 to achieve educational goals, an intermediary is needed, namely the curriculum. The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic at the end of December 2019 became one of the points where the continuity of education, especially in Indonesia, experienced changes. The aim of this research is to analyze the implementation of the independent learning curriculum in improving the quality of education in Bekasi City. Researchers examined this research using a constructivism paradigm with qualitative research methods accompanied by a case study research approach. The data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, literature study and documentation, as well as taking informants using purposive sampling techniques. Based on research results, the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum in Bekasi City has been successfully realized through a series of concrete steps involving stages ranging from announcement, advocacy, training, to official approval as an integral part of the education system. Edward III's theory shows that good communication is a key factor in achieving understanding and support from all relevant parties in an educational policy. One example of the successful implementation of this program can be seen at SDN Kaliabang Tengah 1, which has acted as a driving school. The effectiveness of program implementation at this school is a successful example regarding the implementation of the independent learning curriculum program at elementary school level.
