Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of students' mathematical concepts in elementary schools. Understanding of mathematical concepts is considered difficult for some students, especially at MI Sirojul Huda. This study aims to improve understanding of mathematical concepts in the problem posing learning model for fourth grade students at MI Sirojul Huda. The research method in this study used the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method. The results of research conducted in cycle I and cycle II using the problem posing learning model can improve students' understanding of the concepts of class IV at MI Sirojul Huda in mathematics shows that research has shown an increase, an increase in each cycle I on the overall average, namely, in cycle I the researcher obtained an average score of 64 and the researcher obtained an increase in points in cycle II, namely 88. The increase in classical completeness in each cycle, that is, in cycle I the researcher obtained a classical score of 47.82% with 11 students completing and 11 students not completing 12 students. In cycle II there was an increase in the number of students who completed, namely as many as 21 students and 2 students who did not complete, this led to an increase in students' classical completeness to 91.30%. The increase in the results above proves that using the problem posing learning model can improve understanding of concepts in class IV MI Sirojul Huda in mathematics.
