Abstract

ABSTRACT Recently, along with the increase in production from glass and bottle factories in Indonesia, this has resulted in the creation of glass waste. One effort to overcome this problem is to use glass waste as a substitute for concrete mixtures. During the last few years, research has been conducted to develop the use of wastes that can still be used as admixtures in concrete mixes. Utilization of glass sand waste for reuse (re-use) is one of the appropriate waste handling solutions. This study aims to determine the ratio of normal concrete compressive strength (0% waste glass sand) with concrete substituted with 12%, 24%, and 36% waste glass sand. The main test is the compressive strength of concrete based on SNI 03-6825-2002 using a Compression Test Machine with a capacity of 1500 kN with ASTM C-39 testing standards. For data processing using Ms. Excel. From the results of this study, it was obtained that the average compressive strength of concrete with 0% glass waste sand substitution (normal concrete) obtained an average concrete compressive strength of 20.65 MPa. For variations of glass waste sand 12% obtained an average compressive strength of 22 .30 MPa. For the 24% glass waste sand substitution, it obtained an average compressive strength of 24.99 MPa. For the 36% glass waste sand substitution, it obtained an average compressive strength of 21.07 MPa. Keywords: Concrete, Compressive Strength, Glass Waste Sand.
