Abstract

Prostitution is an illegal practice that violates the law in Indonesia. But who would have thought, this country is seen as a sex tourism destination because it has a large number of commercial sex workers (PSK). Even Indonesia is one of the five most popular sex tourism destination countries in the world. This proves that the practice of prostitution for prostitutes in Indonesia is still mushrooming. Recently, this practice has developed rapidly with the online system. At the same time, weak law enforcement, corruption and economic disparity which are seen as the roots of the rampant commercialization of sex, still receive little serious attention from the government. This research is a correlational quantitative research that will involve 32 Commercial Sex Workers (PSK) in Bekasi Regency. The sampling technique used is quota sampling. The data collection method is a psychological scale, namely the locus of control scale and the moral disengagement scale. The reliability test results for the locus of control scale were 0.735 and the moral disengagement scale was 0.710. The results of locus of control hypothesis testing with moral disengagement in commercial sex workers in Bekasi district amounted to r = 0.925 with a significant level (p) = 0.000 where p <0.05 means that there is a significant relationship between locus of control and moral disengagement.
